Metal Gear Solid (PSX) * Shares the name and skill of Decoy Octopus. 
 
* Holds the floating posture of Psycho Mantis.

* Becomes invisible and hides in the environment, taunting Snake to find her, as Gray Fox had.

* Disappears in an ink cloud as Mantis had disappeared with his stealth suit.

* Fight occurs in the lab of a rescued scientist, much as the fight against Gray Fox (and Black Ninja before him in Metal Gear 2) had. 
 
* Features destructible indoor windows as Snake had encountered in Hal's lab. 
 
* Building floorplan is a central, clustered space with a square perimiter similar to the Revolver Ocelot fight.
Metal Gear Solid 2 (PS2) * Wields a P90 submachine gun and tentacles as Solidus Snake had. 
 
* Impersonates Solid Snake as Solidus had. 
 
* Her catchphrase, "Laugh," resembles Fatman's self-consciously crafted line, "Laugh and grow fat."
* Grabs, chokes, and stuns Snake with tentacles as Solidus had done to Raiden. 
 
* Leaps outside the level's accessible borders and emerges elsewhere, recalling Vamp's similar forays into hyper-oxygenated water. 
 
* Charges at Snake for impact damage as Solidus had done to Raiden after losing his tentacles. 
 
* As Mk.II, she plants Claymores for Snake to run into as Fatman had laid bombs atop the Big Shell's heliport.
* Snake can use boxes for cover in the perimeter halls during the Frog firefight, recalling Snake's shoot out during the Gurlukovich ambush on board the Tanker.
Metal Gear Solid 3 (PS2) * Laughter suggests the emotion of The Joy, aka The Boss, from the Cobra Unit. * Releases minibombs that track Snake as The Pain's bullet bees had. 
 
* Hangs invisibly from the building's beams as The Fear had done in the boughs of trees. 
 
* Her tactics pressure the player to use ENV mode on the Solid Eye, recalling a similar need to use the Thermal Goggles against The Fear. 
 
* Ambushes Snake with melee attacks from above as The Fear had. 
 
* Protects herself from all damage by gathering tentacles around herself, much as The Pain had done with his hornets. 
 
* Gliding and strafing motions while firing the P90 recall The Boss's use of The Patriot in her final battle. 
 
* Uses ink spray to cloud Snake's vision after discovery while hiding, much as The End had used Flash Grenades for the same purpose whenever Naked Snake snuck up on him.
* Cabin setting similar to the Factory fight against the Ocelot Unit.
